Why Your CMMC, NIST CSF and HIPAA Scores Changed (August 2026)

In the August 2026 release, Augmentt substantially expanded which posture checks feed the CMMC Level 1, CMMC Level 2, NIST CSF 2.0 and HIPAA Security Rule assessments.

If you use any of those four assessments, your customers' compliance percentages will have moved — and for most tenants they will have gone down. This article explains why, and why a lower number here reflects better measurement rather than a worse tenant.

The short version. These four assessments were built before most of Augmentt's current posture-check library existed, and every check added since targeted the CIS assessments only. Thirty-five checks that shipped from February 2026 onward evidenced CMMC, NIST and HIPAA controls that their assessments never measured. That gap is now closed.
